Staffordshire in the uk hasn't been too bad so far. I've not even had to pull my winter coat out. Last year we had snow in the late spring, so I'm sure worse weather is yet to come.

It's damp here too, but no where near as cold as I would expect for this time of year. I went out late afternoon (7pm) in just my cardigan, a thin one at that. edit: I just realised I could expect a few wise cracks for that! Of course i was wearing underwear, jeans, top and footwear too

In the north of The Netherlands, where I live, we had the first snow yesterday and today. Strong winds too, so winter for the first time this season. First day I put on a blanket on our oldest horse (a 32 years old arabian). In an average winter, she gets her blanket on in October, maybe November! Our chickens saw snow for their first time ever. They refused to get out yesterday, but today they tried a few steps and then some more. Also because my loving husband created an almost snow free path for them, from the door of their night enclosure, up to a large carport where they can potter about snow-free

OH yes Ann, her first snow! I work for the local government in the public works department and we are already preparing! I lived in Camden as a child and never remember having snow there. It's still unusual around there, isn't it? I guess I wasn't telling you anything you didn't already know. I feel sure that our grocery shelves are empty by now. People here are crazy when the word snow is even mentioned. It'll all be over in 24 hours. No big deal.

Staffordshire in the uk hasn't been too bad so far. I've not even had to pull my winter coat out. Last year we had snow in the late spring, so I'm sure worse weather is yet to come. This is the coldest winter we've had in years. I never once pulled out my leather jacket last year, and now I'm living in it along with turtleneck sweaters and warm scarves. Everyone over here is freezing. Of course, the saying here is that if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes, and it will change. Too true at times. And we seldom have snow predicted. Shivering!

My friend in DC said it is freezing. Odd when it is so far south, but I suppose our climate is moderated by the Gulf Stream.
