I nearly always open crates, even for easy things like wheat, and especially for hard items.
It is quicker if i am in a hurry.
Gives people on here the option of trading the maximum coin, of crates for boat points, XP and towards the co-op achievement (I thought I'd never fill 500 of others crates).
If you have tough crates, open them, and put an ad in the paper for eggs. Someone will always fill them within 30 mins. Even sugar , fish and dairy orders.. So do you open crates or not? And why?

Yes, I do. Normally because i don't have enough to fill them, but also people can give the "Thank You" vouchers

Most of the times I do open crates, sometimes I don't. They are filled within 2 minutes by friends and followers, 95% of the time.
I don't feel comfortable asking for help for sugar, or dairy, or jam.... I don't like the idea that maybe a friend will fill them to help me, while they would rather have kept this costly stock for their own use. If I don't have enough immediately, I only need a liitle more time. Otherwise, I would have sent that boat off.

I rarely open crates because I'm not good at asking for help. I only open mine if I really haven't got the items but are easy to find in the paper. So I search the paper knowing I can fill them quite quickly and the items are easy enough for others to fill them if they want to. Same as Karen I wouldnt't dream of accepting a sugar/dairy boat and ask for help those items are too precious at every lvl, they always get sent down the river.

If a boat has a tough item, see ya! If the crates are fairly easy I will always open three crates, usually the end three. Weird huh?

There was a time that I seldom opened crates because I hated to ask for help. Then after a discussion on the forum, I decided to leave three open each time for the benefit of others (and me - saves stock). When I do leave crates open, I can usually fill them myself if no one else does; so now I don't feel guilty asking for help.

Since the thank you notes, I open 3. I don't ever expect my sugar or dairy to get filled and am surprised how often an ad brings someone that will fill them. So, to my forum members, please don't fill the dairy or sugar. I don't like to put others out and always expect to fill them myself.

Ditto, whenever I open crates on sugar and dairy, I always place a lure add to get it filled by a numpty, not by one of my friends. So please, don't fill those crates
