I just stumbled upon a thread where they say that some of the top contributors spend over $1000 on those events. I thought I'd better give that information here too, I don't know if it's true but it would be a pity if you invest 300 bucks in this and still don't even get close to the top rankings. I don't know if there's a way to calculate it, but perhaps we can watch the counter on how many boats the top contributors sent off and how many diamonds that must have cost them (roughly). Well the top person at moment is at 4,644 boats, that's around $600. The next group is at 2604 boats, that's 4 packs $400 but only half of 4th pack purchased has been used. 4 packs (3,750 D) is 3,000 boats 5 packs is 3,750 boats Even in a case where we didn't win, I have yet to see same team win these btw, we'd still be in top 2-3 and the forum would still be plastered on iPads, androids, iPhones in millions of homes on the "top contributions"

Ah okay, good! I didn't dare to do the math (if I screw up I might set you up for something you don't want) but I thought I had to bring it to your attention. But you are right, numbers are declining fast in the top 10, you have a good shot at the top list then!
*gets excited*

I will help when I can. I usually have Tom available-it's my one splurge!

Matt, in your calculation, did you consider we'll have to send off lots of boats empty, after a while? We'll be out of the scarce products in no time, even with several Toms hired to help. Also, I'm in it for the fun. Promoting our forum, I like that too, but I really do not look forward to an invasion of new members. A couple, or maybe ten or so, awesome! If we would really get dozens of new members in a few days time... But I don't think this will actually happen (not sure), and if it does we'll think of something. Like a waiting list for the expansion teams, adding only 1 or 2 new members each week or so. We'll see .

Matt, I obviously don't understand how this works as a forum team event. Could you please explain to me exactly what is required of each participating individual? Would you be the only one turbo-boating with the rest of us selling product to you to fill your crates, and would we still be sending off our boats individually as well, in order to also take advantage of the prizes, coin, and XP for the event? If the event were to last for 4 days, that would be a total of 5760 boats (fewer if you sleep at all) if you were to send one off every minute, which I suppose is in the realm of possibility if there is product to fill them. How would you obtain that product since many of us prepare for the next boat only when we know what the next boat requires? We have 4 hours to do that usually. Turbo-boating does not offer us that leisure.
Tom can only get so much for us every two hours, and each of us would probably need to ask him for a different product so we don't all obtain many of the same item. That requires some organization. An influx (if there would be one) of new forum members who might join simply because they learn of our assaults definitely does not appeal to me. We've experienced that, and it was a great deal of trouble for many of us, especially Karen and me.I'm sorry if I seem too obtuse to understand this, but I need some more details, please, before I can make a decision.

I had assumed that the top contributers had jail broken devices and hacked the code of the game

That was my assumption too, Hip.

Like a waiting list for the expansion teams, adding only 1 or 2 new members each week or so. We'll see . Items will not be scarce. Members in bulk = FTW. Hypothetical, say we get 13 members + me = 14 total Let's say the absolute worst boat in the history of the world were to come: Bread, Cream, B/W Sugar and let's assume each crate is the absolute worst 22, 8, 8 & one most worst case scenario, 4 crates, which then translates into 88, 32, 32 required items.... :tina face: 88 divided by 14 = 6.28 Loafes Bread 32 divided by 14 = 2.28 B/W Sugar - Cream Those would be the numbers per person we would need to fill that boat. So we won't need to worry about this, we know the needs of every item from the "what do I need thread" Apple Jam for instance requires 1 per person on a 14 member team basically. Now before hand I can actually trade 60 sem for 60 lobster tails if we wanted at snap of finger and once again 14 members on lober crates is 1 tail per person basically. We can't lose, the philosophy is being shown in team bolt, right now No boats will be sunk, none! As for the potential infusion, those n00bs are immediately going to bottom of list, they wanna join team Bolt or Screw Loose? They have eyes, they've brains & they can read. So don't go holding their hand to begin with, they wanna join, show us you can follow simple instructions and you damn well best be ponying up B/SEM to the team ASAP. If they don't like it, they can GTFO. We cut them from our GC friend list, this way they can't snake any item & ignore them if they stay on forum. #IDGAFAY #GenghkisKhanStyle

Ok, I think you are (too) optimistic here about how this would work, but as long as no one would feel devastated in case we dont get to the top 5, I'm in. Many of us may have not a whole lot of time to play, depending on work hours and other RL matters.
The result of the total neighborhood counts, right? So every boat counts, no matter if it's sent from your farm, or from any other chat house member.

Matt, would you please answer a few questions for me which either have not been asked or which answers I may have missed.
1. Would we sell our all our goods to you for 1 coin for the event so that those goods can help you turbo-boat?
2. If we help you turbo-boat, then do you get the all coins and XP from everything that goes into the boats, except for any crates you might leave open?
3. What do the rest of us get out of your turbo-boating other than our selling our product to you cheap and the fact that we did it as a neighborhood, which may or may not bring in new members.

It seems to me that where Matt may be (too) optimistic, Ann has a clear view of the possible dark sides!

No you'd sell to me at whatever price you seem for, no way do I expect you guys to lose all those potential coinage rewards but remember as Biggie said "mo money mo problems"... I don't exactly believe that but it sounds damn skippy good at this moment in time 2. You'd get the xp & coins from filling the crates and the coins from selling the products. Otherwise you'd technically be losing coins from selling your items to me at a higher return then default on rss but not close to maximum return on max price like everyone currently does. 3. You get stickers from Karen outside of the challenge that comes with being a team in this, there really isn't anything grand in return except lots of coin growth at an exponential rate and lots. If we get enough members to hardcore join and we don't get but 10 new members, oh well, at least we gave it a shot, after the event we'd all just re-stock from Tom that I'd have x2 and members who bought Tom during our run for glory.

Read through this very quickly. Are we basically helping you fill all boat orders at next boat event for promo? If so, don't understand why new members would be at the bottom of the list. What list Assault teams?

I'm taking a leap of faith on this one!
I'm in.
Matt will be broke in hay day coin and out a fair amount in rl coin. His decision. He will level up in return, and have bragging rights. (and promote forum? Jury is out on that benefit)
For me, a fun distraction... No big downside.. We shall see!
We can always blame any abject failure on brad! That is for sure.
