Not so long ago, Tina made an imaginary net to hunt for oyster pearls. I now have a RL chicken, with imaginary eggs. I may name her Tina. This silly chick is broody and has actual eggs to brood. But once or twice a day she leaves the nest for a short while, to get some food and water. When she returns to the chicken house, she's all confused and then sits down in broody posture in no particular spot. When I come to pick her up, she's very defensive of her imaginary eggs .

LOL, great picture Jenn! I'm so sorry for your dog Chantal! Any chance it can be removed/cured? Our Tina has had real and imaginary eggs for 12 days, but apparently she decided to move on, this afternoon. She's gone outside and is still out, now for 2 hours of so. Seeing her prancing, with a great attitude of pride, I guess she moved on to having imaginary babies. We've had Indian Runner Ducks for almost 2 years. Sadly, the foxes got them all in the end. These stubborn ducks refused to sleep in their pen/stable. They insisted on going to sleep near the ditch, in front of our house. They always came running if you called them, except when they suspected you might want to lead them into their pen and then close the door.... We have chickens now because chickens actually love to sleep " indoors". Our runner ducks:

is that your own plot of land? Green with envy! Just love that video, especially the bit near the end where they all curiously waddle down the lane. I used to have horses, one was a miniature Shetland, they are cute but incredibly bad tempered. When I was a kid, we had a chow chow, Alsatian, standard poodle and Staffordshire bull. When I moved from home the first thing I did was buy a dog from a rescue centre (rocky), a few years later I was saving up to buy a shar pei. That same year, my grandfather passed away, and he used to hide money in the strangest places. Stitched up inside the lining of his jacket was an envelope marked "Tina's pup" with a wad of cash inside. I have no idea how long he had it saved for, he was such a lovely man and I miss him dearly. With the money, I brought Diesel (the pup in the picture), he means the world to me. He's 8 now, but still acts like a pup. I would love more pets, but we only have a small two bed semi, it was a full house even before my daughter came along. Sooooo.... With that in mind, I'm moving into your place (Karen) on Tuesday, I can sleep in the chicken pen with my pal Tina the chicken

That is SO sweat that your grandfather did that. Finding that envelop after he passed away must have been... wow. I don't know a word for it. Yes, I do feel so *rich* living in this big farm house with all the land. I embrace that feeling every day, even though it's already 18 years ago now, that we moved in. We bought this when we started the dog training center. Part of the house is actually a barn, so with rain or heavy cold, we could do dog training classes with a roof over our heads. The house, the heating system, etc. are all really old, but I love it. One of our ducks with babies: And here is Tina! She's the white one.

What a great day today, the warmest March 9 ever registered in The Netherlands. I was outside and I'm pretty sure I witnessed the following conversation, between our dog Fred, and our rooster. Fred: "Hey birdie! Let's play ball! See, I have it here, and NOW I'm throwing it right at ya!" Rooster: Darn! Crazy dog... (Flaps his wings and jumps up and down to impress, accidently hitting the ball) Fred: "Yessss! I fetched it!" (Eyes go wild from excitement) "Here, I throw it back to ya! ... Yesss, right on your feet, just like Karen taught me to." Rooster: "You bloody piece of *#%#%#**!! (Races off, neck feathers up, chasing the dog, and accidently hitting the ball again) Fred: "Yeeeeehaaaaw! You like run and chase too, hah! Let me pick up that ball, and you're it" (Fred picks up the ball while running, which leads to a frontal collision with the racing rooster) Rooster: *#%#%#**!! Fred: "Yelp!!" (Fred looks at me, now very disappointed) "That bird bit me! While I would never hurt him... ?!" Rooster: "You'd better remember that! Now, where's my girl Tina?" Here's Fred: (tap on pics to see larger)

Great pics. Ohhh you have a donkey! I'm starting to get jealous Karen We have two donkeys, the one in the picture is named Juul (in English that would be Jule or Julia, noooo not Jenny ), and her mom, named Jo (full name Jomanda). Our total herd, besides my husband and me, consists of a Shetland pony (21 yrs old), an Arabian horse (32 yrs), an Icelandic Horse (31 yrs old, he used to be my riding horse but now is fully retired), 3 Kune Kune pigs, 2 donkeys (30 yrs, 18 yrs old), 4 chickens and a rooster (we'll have baby chicks soon I hope!), dog Fred (almost 7 now, Border Collie x Leonberger) and cat Guus (approx 10 yrs old). @ Tina: no, the one sunbathing in the background is the rooster, Tina's husband. Chantal, how's buddy doing?

kune kune pigs? Are they a smaller breed of pig? Pigs have to be my second fav animal, behind dogs. Actually, my dog looks a bit like a pig, so maybe that's the other way around
