Hi guys, Since the new town has been out I haven't been able to do most truck orders because the products asked for are also needed for the town people and the amounts needed to fill the truck orders as well as the type of orders have changed drastically. I mostly get asked for high end products and much larger amounts than before. I get very few easy truck orders these days. Boat orders have also become more difficult to fill. I am not able to help my friends with there boats as much as I used to. The game has become very unbalanced because of the new town IMO. Now you are forced to choose between the town or the farm. My game play has also slowed drastically. I am starting to get a bit frustrated to say the least. Anyways I know that SC has plans to bring back some balance in the game in coming updates but how long is that going to take ? In the mean time we have to play like this. Another change to is less BEM in the DD because people are stocking for town building upgrades. I can live with that but it still means looking longer in the DD to find BEM. This is just just a game so I don't want to take this to seriously but it is starting to feel more and more like a chore and less and less like fun. I sincerely hope that SC brings back some balance in the next update and soon. Give us something fun to do in the town besides just filling orders. We do that enough already on the farm. This is only my experience with the new town as it is now so I would also like to know what your thoughts are about the new town thanks.

Chumps, I am in full agreement with you. I too think it has become a chore trying to decide among truck, boat, and town orders. It has become more of a job and has lost some of its fun. Too many decisions to be made in what used to be more of a fun game. We are also having to save so many BEM and LEM and bars right now in order to upgrade the town that my barn is full of stuff that I can't use for orders. I also haven't made jewelry since the town appeared. Since the game requires so many building materials, I think there should be a separate shed for holding some of them now, much like the tackle box in the fishing area. I realize that it's "just" a game, but it is becoming less and less fun to play. The amount of products needed for the peeps in the town are ridiculous. I can't keep up. Every time I build up a particular stock, such as sugar or dairy, it's gone in a flash because the peeps ask for it. I'm now sending away visitors who ask for certain items although once I start with a visitor, I want to finish all their requests so that I will get a gift, which is not always something I need for the town which is most irritating. Speaking of gifts, my opinion is that they should all be TEM since we can't get those anywhere else as we can BEM, SEM, and LEM. I cringe every time I get another gift in the town which isn't a TEM. Fairness does not seem to be a part of this game. I had not heard about SC's plans to bring a balance to the game, and there's no predicting when another update to do that will appear. Even the special event goals have been set so high that they the first ones after the update were unattainable. Even the goal for the Easter event was set so high that we couldn't even get a virtual Easter basket. Ridiculous!
I'm hoping that the Eggspress train does not arrive unless I go to the town (like the boat doesn't appear until you open the game), and I'm planning to not open the town for a day while I rebuild my stock. When the visitors take what I need to make other products, where's the fun in that? It's a chore. I make sugar and dairy all day long and still never have enough. I have sent an email to SC regarding the personal train's changing from being in perfect repair (after a time upgrade) to reverting back to the engine's top being cracked and with a patch on it and will they fix that soon. The response was that that was something they hadn't heard about and they would pass the info to the right people to check on it. That proves they don't monitor their own forum to check out the threads because numerous people have mentioned this very problem. Sigh. Okay, rant over. Those are a few of my thoughts as you requested. Now don't you wish you hadn't asked?

I totally agree ann and chumps, before the update, I wouldn't be seen dead with crusty trees on my farm but now they're becoming a fixture. Obviously I don't care about my farm as much as I did, it has become a chore. I have asked myself "why am I playing when I don't feel like it?" numerous times. Everything is harder to find in the DD, it's not just BEM. I have a lucky run now and then, I will search for BEM and if I find nothing for 5 mins, I give up and try again later. Then when I do find BEM, I find lots of it. I would very much like to undo the update, and revert to the old fashioned truck and boat orders.

Summer upgrade must be around the corner so lets see but i think that will have to do more with the beach kiosque that with something else....gkad you have started this Chumps

Agree this new update is a real chore, a long slog and will just get bigger and bigger in future upgrades.
I think I mentioned in another thread as well that the balance of the game is way out of sync. The lp's want all these goodies but SC have not given us any extra machines so that we can even try to keep up and make them, and like you say the DD is empty of decent stuff now even bacon is getting harder to find!!
So what benefit has the town given us? Nothing apart from struggling finding, making and storing stuff, we don't even get decent coins and xp when we do complete orders and when we have all upgraded the land we will still only be getting LEM's/BEM's/TEM's for what? The next upgrade!! Pfft....

I couldn't agree more with you all. I used to play alot but since the update it felt like chores indeed, I was struggling with pretty much everything, stock, barn space, boats, truckorders, bars.... so more and more often I find myself shrugging over the game and just not open it. I used to open the game a few times per hour whenever I had some time off, nowadays I open it once every few hours and sometimes even only two or three times a day. Used to be the first thing I did in the morning, now I wait for hours and hours before opening the game because it became a tedious chore. Less goodies, less BEM, less boats, less xp... meh.
If it stays like that odds are that my playing time will get less and less. I'm starting to lose interest since we got the town.
It would allready make a big difference if we get a tool shed and if we would only find TEM in town. Or that TEM will be available on your farm, just like the other materials. And perhaps they should alter some amounts of items asked. Like that boats won't ask for 12 cream per crate but like 4. That way we will still be able to fill boats. Now I got to neglected half of my game if I want a bigger town/reputation level.

Wow. This is all much more serious than I initially thought.
I was happy with the town and still like the idea, because frankly, I was getting bored doing boat and truck orders over and over again. I don't do the boat and truck orders anymore now, unless there happens to be an easy one. It doesn't bother me that much to ignore the boats and trucks.
But my enthusiasm has been vanishing quickly, because the town obviously has such a negative impact on the game play for many of us. Naturally, that effects the chathouse, the forum, team bolt - everything.
Would it be possible to solve this, somehow? I've been thinking about swapping goodies much more than we do now, but I don't see yet how that would work well. Maybe someone else has a bright idea?
What if a majority of our group would decide to ignore the town and go back to where we were? I would certainly be willing to give that a try.

My thoughts for you guys having trouble with food are start trading SEM & BEM for food on SC. This will eliminate your sugar & dairy issues and allow you to get to Tina (or it was) & mine levels of 75-80 of cream, butter, cheese(s), etc...I know the whole barn system is in place but outside of getting screwed with mine or fruit care products you have 8-15 donkey feedings 3-4 horse, cat, dog, rabbit feedings 25-30 lp in town That can get you free SEM & BEM and obviously there is still country hop'n in DD. There is going to be a lot of stuff for folks to expand with even if you bounce some items As far as boats, I never pass on them and lp & truck in farm I despised doing for so long but I'm now also close to finishing lp award. My strategy is I never sell products to lp and only produce, once I get that award I'll be done with them for good. Truck orders I'm only filling apples, chili popcorn, carrots/wheat/corn, strawberry + shep pie, jewerly, goat milk, bacon, eggs, IE: things that are easy and always in DD. IMO truck orders are the devil, crap coin, worthless xp because you're getting boat & town ppl xp so leveling up isn't an issue #1 and #2 there is nothing to level up to anymore. Once you get to 70 (?) you have everything. I know lots of you keep lots if saws, axes... Those to me seem like massive waste of space bc you're getting 5-7 of each just from all the feedings, harvesting food products in a chain, harvesting in general and town lp. The ore & such is now a hot thing along with mine products so that's prolly cramp'n stuff to but if you can trade your SEM & tape & if you're courageous throw in some bolts and planks you can never deal with limited stocks, especially if ya drop truck words. Just special matty two cents

I hope we all like the new game hippo, so we can play together still! I still would like to clear my land plots and maybe do some time upgrading on a few of the town buildings. Now that I reached the goal of getting the beach shack, I realize it just takes more stuff to produce to get meager tem rewards... Anticlimactic.
My biggest problem with the update is that there is no way to acquire tem except at the coding whim of the drop rates in town.... And, our farms have been given nothing to compensate for so much extra demand. Since sc has linked the town to the farm, at least the farm crops and buildings should generate tem as well... At the very least a separate storage for bars and tem in the town...
Anyway, I share above frustration. Maybe future update will restore some balance, but I think sc may have jumped the shark.
For now, we can trade paint and bricks for maps or vice versa... There is probably a way to do another collective assault for town land expansion/and or building upgrades, ala matty theory.... I have not really thought that through. Trading our food for tem instead of feeding the greedy lp... I dunno. I'm rambling.

Wow, for the first day ever since I started to play Hay Day, I haven't played yet today (it's 8pm here) ;( . A combination of several things: frustration with the game because I like(d) to play the town, but that leaves me no products to play boats or trucks too, I'm misssing our team spirit in action (I'm to blame just as well, i haven't been chatty lately nor creative in trading etc.), and related to it all, Team Bolt is just a shadow of what it used to be. Several others already let us know that they are playing a lot less. Some others haven't been outspoken about it, but seem to be missing in action. On the bright side, I admire some, especially Mum and Peter, of being there every day. By the way, that doesn't mean I'm accusing anyone who wasn't there, either busy with other things or not that motivated to play Hay Day anymore. I haven't missed Hay Day at all today. I do miss the action and fun that we had. I wish I could snap my fingers to magically turn things back to the way they were. But to be honest, even if the town would have been deleted tomorrow, things wouldn't be be back to where we were. Somehow something changed that can't be reversed. Do we still have optimists here ? What do you think, does our forum / team has a future?

People who hate town need to join me I got my beach shack built (in progress) and then finish decorating beach area and be done. Pickup lp from others train and if I like their requests serve them otherwise my town is just for perdy show. Then we can trade the goodies for BEM on SC for barn assault. Maps are still going 4:1 and bricks and paint is still high demand 3:1. / Matty cents

I'm only going on to chat more than anything Me and hubby spoke about it this morning and he feels the same as I do. Matts never been as into hayday as me, but this morning he said he went on to do the usual stuff, harvest, fill machines, feed animals, tend town and it took him over an hour, for what he needed to be 5 minutes. I did like when there were less machines to fill, and no town but you're right Karen, even if they undid the town update tomorrow I don't think I'd get my mojo back. I miss what our community used to be too. Whenever I click hayday to see who's on my voice echos right back at me. I was fortunate today to catch a few people online, and really enjoyed our chat (babies) I'm doing some casual work at the mo, and I have wifi so take my ipad along, but I didn't click on hayday once until I got home... Even through the bouts of boredom waiting for a customer. I'd love to hear any suggestions on getting our community back on track

I'm really sorry to see and be part of all this...i have been so overbusy with the buildings at home, that im too tired to chat and just playing a bitt...get frustrated with the town and go to sleep....during mornings i have caught Matt and Mickie, sometimes Jill too, but that's only 5 minutes before going to work...my nose is digging to the dd to find stuff for my town as i dont like to ask too much befause i have nothing to offer due to the lack of stk...
Maybe i will increase my stk just before thinking again about town, is true what Tina said once, let's face it, nobody likes to be left behind, but this time I think I will, dont like the town not because of it per se, is just that I dont have enough to cover all orders, boats and trucks and apart from being frustrating is expensive!

I have already expressed an opinion about this update, but I am frustrated enough to do it again.
I think SC didn't think this one through very well before adding this update. Fun it is not! I wonder if money signs have blinded them to the fact that they have ruined a once fun game. I think I'll check out their forum for comments from their members, not that anyone's comments/complaints are going to make a difference.
I agree with all the previous comments. The town takes too much of our effort and our stock, and we don't even know ahead of time what to prepare as we do for boats. Hay Day has become more of a chore rather than being the fun it once was.
And the cotton! First we grow the cotton with no new fields available to us, make the fabric, and then make the tacky little clothes - too many steps for so little return. I have also never liked having to make olive oil in order to make mayonnaise on the same machine. Olive oil is used for more than making mayonnaise. It's impossible for me to keep both in stock in reasonable numbers.
This update has turned our chatty, active forum into a quiet, inactive one. Either we're all busy trying to keep the game going or we have quit trying to keep up and therefore have quit participating. I hate it that this forum has become less than what it used to be. I am glad it is still here, but it is not being used as it once was. I saw it start to change when chat was added when some members then never checked the forum for news or messages, and then this town update did the rest.
Has anyone else noticed that SC has also set the bar really high on the special events so that we fail more often than we succeed, or do we fail because we no longer have the time or stock to meet their quotas? I'm still annoyed that they set the quota for the flipping Easter basket so high that so that we couldn't win one. That was all we had for Easter except for two bunnies who play with butterflies and eat!
Matt may have the right idea. Decorate the town and let it be a pretty part of our game and then ignore it for the most part since it has been a real chore. It certainly isn't fun. It's a guessing game. My barn is still basically the same size it was before the update, but now I'm having to hold 75-90 bars to upgrade a personal train (but only once I reach a certain level) which brings me little return for my efforts. Maps are in short supply for me so expanding the town completely is going slowly, but I'm willing to let it sit once I finish expanding all my land.
Okay. Opinion expressed again and rant over. I just wonder where we go from here. I don't want this forum to become so inactive that it dissolves. I love the friendships that have been made here and would be bereft if it all falls apart.
I wish I had some ideas on how to make it better, but I am at a loss.

Agree there is something missing from where we used to be with the game & forum. It's not a five minute job tending to it now and for the hard work we put into it, there is minimal rewards from the town, well pretty much no reward, apart from a few measly rep points and duplicate tools.
I'm doing similar as to what Matt is doing. I'm only doing single item orders that I get from neighbours towns and occasional double item orders from the train all the rest I send away. Talking about the PT's that in it self is too long winded to search for lp's to pick up, the game is just too labour intensive now and interest has waned considerably.
Once all the buildings and land have been upgraded then what? We will still only get building/tools as gifts meaning that we will have to store them waiting for the next upgrade, just to start over again.
The dd IMO has gone back to the days when the game first started just nothing decent in it anymore as ppl need the stuff they are making for the town. So dd searching isn't fun anymore just a real chore!
As for the barn assaults, yes they were definitely fun and got the chat going but the bigger everyone's barns get the more searching is required and as there is nowt in the dd it just makes it hard work for everyone.
So I've no idea how we try and turn this around, so I'm stumped....!!

I posted this on SC, so will summarize the important part.
If everyone who has beach cafe, no pressure, get together and just send away all our LP from our eggespress and we all have maxed out our LP quota, 12, we can have a very large contingent of LP to pick from.
I know we have Fiona, Jon, Karen x2, Amy, Cindy, Flo, Mickie, Ann, Peter, Jil, Jim, Ada and myself. Tina Bear is close, so that gives us 14 at moment, if we all have 12 lp coming in, thats 168, we send them all away that gives us 168 x 2 (visits per lp to towns) which is 336 shops to fill and then in 6 hours we get a new crop. We save items bc its 1 lp = 1 shop = Gift all our PT are quick I assume so, me for example I can get 15 lp in 6 hours and depending on lp up to 15 gifts.
In 1 day we could in theory get 30 gifts in just 12 hours and the sum total of food products going out is cut by at least 75%. Well oiled machine at that point.

I haven't paid enough attention to see if the visitors we pick up from others actually give us gifts. Do you know?
I was under the impression that the gifts come only from Eggspress Train visitors who are sent to every shop they ask to visit and that those we pick up from others and visit only one shop don't give gifts. Does anyone know if visitors from the personal train trips give gifts as well?
I will try to check this myself today when/if I pick up visitors with my personal train. Matt's idea sounds good if we are given gifts from PT visitors who go to only one shop. In fact, it sounds great. Saves us some stock and time, if we can also get gifts from those visitors.
