The range is 2 - 4 hours, I believe. Next time I fish, I will note times. The longer wait times appear to be furthest from the cabin.

I put my nets/traps in the two deep water fishing spots (by the sunken ship and to the left of it). They seem to have the longest cooldown times. I also use the two rocky areas to the left and right of those (one is the brook).
Has anyone caught the new fish from the new areas yet? I have the Sockey Salmon who seems to be everywhere with the worm. I want the new fish that should be caught with a gold lure in the new rocky area, but I only have 3 gold tokens right now. I assume it will have a small circle and be hard to catch, but I haven't gotten a small circle yet. Every time I cast and get a medium circle, I let go 'cause I don't want to waste my gold lures!

Darn! I went for it and got a Yellow Bass there. He was hesitant to take the lure, had a small circle and put up just a little bit of a fight, but not much. So if you get that and want the new fish, let go! One gold down, two to go.

The new fish from the update, along with all the information I current hold for them, has been added to the fishing guide list (alphabetically) The new additions are: Black Bullhead, Goldfish, Sockey Salmon and White Catfish The new event fish will hopefully be added following the next event. If you have any info to add, post here and I'll update

Fishing book results:
11 to discover 18 gold 23 silver 28 bronze
Still have lots to catch. I seem to catch the same ones over and over. Of the new ones, I must have caught the Sockey Salmon 15 times. I don't want to waste gold and purple lures on fish right now, even though they result in diamonds. I may never complete the book.

This thread has been really helpful with the fishing event, thank you! I wish I could find some Dutch guide with the Dutch fish names, it's really hard to keep track of the fish I haven't caught yet. I'm so used to the Dutch version but I might switch to English, just for the sake of keeping up with guides. Anyway, that's none of your concerns, again a big thank you for the info here

I actually switch to Hay Day in English when I go fishing and have this fishing guide background info in my mind. Also, when we 'talk fish', in the chat house. When finished, I switch back to the Dutch version. It's a nice feature that you can switch languages in Hay Day very easily (for those who don't know, go to settings in Hay Day, tap on the flag). Oh, and do you also know it's possible to visit someone else's fishing fishing area and fishing book? Just tap on their fishing boat. I love to go see Oz's book and then make fun of her, , since she hates fishing and therefore still has a LOT of species to catch.

I switched languages too for fishing, but still it's hard to remember which fish you caught yet because the names just don't ring a bell. Oh well I'll get by
